Project

In 2013, Dominick co-founded ‘The ConstructRELIEF Foundation’. The foundation is a not-for-profit organization 501(c) (3) with an aim to reconstruct Staten Island homes destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The foundation was built to provide management, construction, finance and funds to the victims of Sandy. It also serves as a hub for all NYC design and building companies and professionals to volunteer their materials and services. The board of directors are responsible for executing and drafting the foundation’s charter and bylaws. They are the founding members of All Renovation Construction LLC and Think Design Architecture firm.

“With the winter weather already upon us, it was extremely important for the Construct Relief team to get our foundation started so we can help as many people as possible”, stated All Renovation Construction partner and Staten Island resident, Pietro Calabretta. “We have worked with the Think Design Architecture team on many New York City construction projects so it was imperative that we now use our expertise and working relationship to give back to our community” further states Calabretta.

As part of the foundation’s mission of helping Staten Island families rebuild their homes, Construct Relief held a Fundraiser event on December 6, 2012 at Staten Island’s Vanderbilt at South Beach Venue. More than 300 guests including New York City Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis and New York City Council Member Dominic M. Recchia attended Construct Relief’s Staten Island fundraiser. The event, which featured a $10,000.00 gift card(s) donation by Home Depot, raised $50,000.00 towards the rebuilding efforts for Staten Island homes affected by Hurricane Sandy. Up- to-date information will be available via Construct Relief’s social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin

The construction industry relies on a tremendous amount of scheduling and coordination by all trades and professionals. thinkDESIGN Architecture has consistently demonstrated their abilities in knowing how to navigate the approval and permit process through the various NYC agencies in order to keep our projects on time. Additionally, they provide necessary support when questions come up that need immediate attention. It is important to have this solid relationship with not only the owner, but with the Architect as well. These qualities are essential for scheduling as well as for keeping projects within budget.

This year, I completed another large-scale development project with thinkDESIGN Architecture. They are one of the few firms that can truly take a project from an idea to reality. From researching prospective development sites, preparing schematic designs, and obtaining necessary approvals, I can rely on thinkDESIGN Architecture to act quickly and professionally on my behalf throughout the project.
